Rachel Carson: Silent Spring
This book talks about how pesticides are used in different environments and their affects on the living organisms, specially humans. The author talks about how the chemical industry has an adverse affect on the soil and the plants, which then goes to animals and us when we consume vegetables and meat with chemicals in them. The book also talks about DDT and the third world countries that do not have access to it and how around the world, specially in Africa, people die of malaria and can not use these chemicals.
Rachel Louise Carson (190 -1964) was an American marine biologist whose writings are credited with advancing the global environmental movements.
